Class V Services for AIMSS Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals

Raytheon has licensed this software from Giordano Automation for delivery to all of their AIMSS users. This software provides a software "gateway" and supporting tools to integrate Class V services into AIMSS IETMs.  Class V services include BIT interface and analysis, expert system diagnostics using the Diagnostician, integrated measurement instrumentation calls, Adaptive Training, automated parts ordering and maintenance history data collection and analysis.

Introduction

The Class V software package acts as a server to the Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM).  It provides an array of both diagnostic and training services which enable an IETM to make use of "Intelligent" diagnostic and training  reasoning capabilities.  The addition of these services creates a true Class V IETM.

The Class V software is organized as library of functions, a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) called AAdrAtl.Dll@.  Each function provides a specific diagnostic or training service.  Because the Class V software is library of functions and acts as a server, the IETM only need call whatever services it chooses to use.  In addition, the open architecture of a library of functions allows Class V to be integrated into any IETM re-hosted on any platform.

Class V has been integrated into the AIMSS environment using standard Windows interfaces.   The Class V software accepts AIMSS variables and literal values and updates other AIMSS variables.

Diagnostic Services

All the diagnostic services inside the Class V software package are provided by the DiagnosticianJ.  In the windows environment the DiagnosticianJ is implemented as a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) called AAdrDll.Dll@.  It is an inference engine which correlates all test results to a diagnostic model specific to the system being tested to provide a fault call-out.  Test results can be passed to the DiagnosticianJ from any source such as a trouble shooting procedure inside the IETM, a system bus or specific instrument.  For more detailed information about how the Diagnostician=s functions are used inside an IETM, see Section 3 or contact Giordano Automation at (973) 729-5888.

Training Services

All training services inside the Class V software package are self-contained inside a separate Dynamic Link Library (DLL) called ATraining.Dll@.  The DLL contains all services required to incorporate Apersonalized@ or Aintelligent@ training inside an IETM.  These training services log the IETM user=s test results, correlate them to a training model specific to the IETM technical material and develop a profile of that user=s knowledge.  Then based on that profile, it can suggest appropriate training material in the IETM which would best increase that user=s knowledge in specific topic areas.  For more information about how the training services are used inside an IETM, see Section 4 or contact Giordano Automation at (973) 729-5888.
