Diagnostic Profiler (For Microsoft Windows 95/98/00 and NT) The Diagnostic Profiler is a software tool used to develop diagnostics for production and maintenance systems. It is used with the runtime Diagnostician to simplify the development and maintenance of test program sets (TPS), maintenance aids, and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM). It also provides fault detection and isolation statistics that can be used to meet and verify diagnostic requirements. Implementation of the diagnostic capability developed using the Diagnostic Profiler in test program sets, maintenance aids, IETMs and embedded diagnostics is simpler than traditional code based troubleshooting trees. The complexity of a traditional troubleshooting tree is replaced by a simple conversation loop with the Diagnostician. The loop requests the next best test from the Diagnostician, executes that test, and passes the results as pass/fail information to the Diagnostician. When the fault has been identified, the Diagnostician outputs the identification of the appropriate repair item. Changes to the test program are easily made by modifying the loop and changing the diagnostic logic using the Diagnostic Profiler. The time consuming modification and rebuilding of troubleshooting trees is eliminated. More Detail on the Diagnostic Profiler tool suite.
