Step 4 - Define Potential Failure Descriptions

In Step 4, you provide additional descriptive information on each failure mode that was defined in Step 3. This descriptive information is used by Operator Debrief during run-time to describe anomalies to the user. The descriptive information is Subsystem Name and Failure Description. These are text fields and each has a limit of 255 characters. The screen from Step 4 is shown below.

The previously shown screen of the Operator Debrief,  shows how this information is displayed to the user of the Operator Debrief software for the fault Hung Stall. It is displayed in the Fault Description line at the bottom of the screen. What is displayed during run-time is a combination of the subsystem name and the description entered here, separated by a colon (:). This information is also displayed in the Operator Debrief Summary View, shown below. NOTE: the maintenance information that is sent to a Maintenance Information Management is stored inside the DKB in the repair item user text field.
