To access a report, select the desired report topic by pressing on the appropriate tabs. Available reports are listed in the list box by the title of the report. Highlight the desired report title, and press the View pushbutton at the left side of the reports menu. After a few moments, the reports display box will appear. From this display box, you can:
- scroll through the report to view contents
- search forward and backward for text strings
- change font type, bold, italics and underline selected text
- save the report in either Rich Text Format (RTF) or ASCII format.
- print the report
Some reports are dynamically configurable so that you can specify what pieces of information you would like displayed in that report. This not only gives you more control over your reports, but also allows you to create summary or highly detailed reports. If a report is configurable, the "Options ..." button will be enabled. Highlight the desired report title and press the "Options ..." button. A pop-up window will display all the information options for the selected report. Check the information options on and off by clicking on the them. Then click the "Done" button to save the report information options. Once you have set the information options of a report, they will remain set until you change them again by clicking the "Options ..." button. It is a good practice to check the report information options each time before viewing a report to ensure the appropriate information is displayed.

The first version is an automated screen
show that steps through the user interface, each tools use and functions.
The screen show is available from the "Quick Start" button on the main
Profiler screen.
The second is a walk-through in which
you are stepped through actual use of the tools, and you use almost every
tool to develop and exercise a run-time diagnostic knowledge base. This
Quick Start session takes about forty-five
minutes and will introduce you to the Import Design, Test Specification,
Testability Analysis and Run-Time Linkages functions of the Diagnostic
Profiler. Finally, the run-time DKB generated will be simulated in a run-time
environment.
For the most comprehensive start-up for
a new user, we recommend that you view the Quick Start screen show, and
then follow through the sample operations provided.
