AND GENERAL UTILITIES

Diagnostic Profiler Front Screen



The Diagnostic Profiler contains a number of tools and utilities that step you through the process of generating a model-based diagnostic capability. The user interface is a series of tabs that represent specific functions that are performed sequentially through the development process. These functions include 1) Import Design, 2) Specify Tests and Repairs, 3) Testability Analysis, 4) Generate Run-Time, and 5) Diagnostics V&V. An overview of each of these steps is provided below.
 
Screen Layout

The user interface screen contains the following information:

1) definition of the current work area, project and candidate that is loaded. Pull-down windows enable you to access and load any work area, and project and any candidate. The underlying data files and directory structures are managed by the graphical user interface.
 
2) access to specific Diagnostic Profiler functions within "tab" sections which correspond to the development process.
 
3) current status of the candidate currently loaded into the Diagnostic Profiler.

4) access to basic Diagnostic Profiler utilities, including Help, Quick Start, Reports and Logbook. It is highly recommended that you go through the Quick Start.
 
Tab Layout
 
Each tab contains a number of tools which are available to support the function. For example, the Import Design Tool List contains six distinct tools: 1) EDIF Import Wizard, 2) Design Changes Wizard, 3) Combine Designs Wizard 4) SGML Troubleshooting Data Import 5) Create Designs Wizard and 6) Digital Fault Simulator Data Import.  Associated with each tool is Help on the specific tool, and where applicable, configuration of tool optional operating modes. To access help on a specific tool, highlight the tool in the Tool List and press the "Help On Tool" button. To set optional operating modes for the tool, highlight the tool in the Tool List and press the "Configure Tool" button. To execute the tool function highlight the specific tool in the tool list, and press the "Use Tool" button, or double-click on the specific tool in the Tool List.

Candidate Status

At the bottom of each tab is a profile of the status of the candidate which is currently loaded in the Diagnostic Profiler. The Status indicates the date and time when the tool was last executed, the status of the execution and User Notes. You may enter any descriptive notes to summarize your Diagnostic Profiling session or the work that you did. This will be useful for keeping track of what you have done, and when you did it.
 
The last tab accessed will be displayed in blue to indicate the area where you were last working.
