Try a New Fault!

The Diagnostician for LabVIEW demonstration is installed with test result files that simulate a fault at Component U1. You can run the demonstration with any fault by first running the Fault Propagation Simulator to generate the test results that would occur given a fault in a specific location.

To insert a new fault:

  1. Click on the Icon "Fault Propagation Simulator." The window shown below will appear.
  2. ..\graphics\Lv2.gif

2. Click on the empty box next to Load DKB and type in the following path:

C:\labview\adr\221-card\221-card.dkb and then click on the Load DKB button.

A list of parts in the 221 card sample DKB will be listed in the left window. At the top of the list are capacitors, resistors and cathodes. At the bottom of the list (use the scroll bar) are the actual active components.

3. Select a component by highlighting it. Press on the button labeled View Faults.

The middle box will present a list of potential fault locations (pins) associated with the selected component.

4. Select a fault location and press the Add Fault button.

The selected fault will appear in the right window.

5. Press the Generate Files button.

The test result files corresponding to the selected fault will be generated in the appropriate directory.

You can now either minimize the Fault Propagation window, and go into LabVIEW, or you can quit the Fault Propagation Simulator by pressing the Unload DKB and Clear Memory button, followed by double clicking at the upper-left box of the Simulator window.
